Basha Silver, Psy.D.
Pronouns: she/her/hers
Founder & Director
Dr. Basha Silver is a licensed clinical psychologist and the founder of Silver Therapy Group. Her areas of expertise include anxiety (social anxiety, panic, phobias, uncontrollable worry), OCD, depression and life transitions (e.g. career changes, break-ups/divorce, graduations).
Dr. Silver also specializes in reproductive-related mental health challenges (e.g. infertility, postpartum depression and anxiety, pregnancy loss, menopause), and stressors related to the adjustment to parenthood (e.g. changes in identity, relationship strains and evolutions, difficulties with work-life balance). Additionally, she enjoys working with individuals navigating challenges related to young adulthood, including early career anxieties, dating concerns, and the adjustment to college.
Dr. Silver is a New York City native and obtained her bachelor’s degree from Colgate University and doctoral degree from Ferkauf Graduate School of Psychology. Throughout her career she has worked in a variety of settings, including hospitals, private practices, and college counseling centers. She completed her postdoctoral fellowship at Cognitive Therapy for Women, where she received advanced training in women’s mental health. In addition to maintaining a private practice, she also provides clinical supervision to doctoral students at Ferkauf Graduate School of Psychology and runs a support group for predoctoral interns at Kings County Hospital.
In her free time she enjoys spending time with her family, cooking, and swimming in the ocean.

Carly Solon, PhD

Staff Psychologist
Dr. Carly Solon is a New York State licensed clinical psychologist providing services for adolescents, adults, and couples– specializing in trauma, anxiety, depression, grief and loss, and chronic illness. She is passionate about supporting individuals with reproductive mental health related stressors, the adjustment to parenthood, and other major life transitions. Dr. Solon also works with couples as they identify problematic patterns in their relationship and build stronger emotional bonds.
Dr. Solon's therapeutic style is warm and direct. She prioritizes creating a safe and comfortable relationship with her patients to foster an environment for growth. She uses a combination of evidence-based therapies such as CBT, DBT, and CPT, as well as attachment-based approaches to help patients get the most out of their therapy experience.

Dr. Solon obtained her bachelor’s degree from Barnard College and earned her doctorate from Ferkauf Graduate School of Psychology. She completed her postdoctoral fellowship at the NYU Military Family Center and her predoctoral internship at the Brooklyn VA Medical Center where she gained specialized training in trauma treatment. She has completed additional post-graduate training in reproductive mental health through Postpartum Support International.

In her free time, Dr. Solon enjoys spending time with her family, meeting neighborhood dogs, going for trail walks, and reading at coffee shops.

Emma Shimony, PsyD, MPH

Staff Psychologist
Dr. Emma Shimony is a New York State licensed clinical psychologist with expertise in anxiety-related disorders, OCD, perinatal mental health, relationship distress , trauma, chronic illness, older adults, and life transitions (e.g., graduations, career changes, retirement, relationship adjustments). She is passionate about providing therapy for adults and couples. She works from an integrative lens, utilizing Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Psychodynamic Therapy, and Emotionally Focused Therapy. Dr. Shimony’s approach is warm and person-centered, often emphasizing psychoeducation as a key component of her therapeutic style. Her goal is to empower her patients by providing them with effective therapeutic tools, and fostering a sense of confidence and independence when faced with challenging moments.
Dr. Shimony completed her pre-doctoral internship at the Brooklyn VA Medical Center, where she worked in the Post-deployment Readjustment Services and Primary Care Mental Health Integration clinics, providing individual, group, and couples therapy to Veterans and their partners. She has received intensive training in a variety of outpatient and inpatient clinical settings, including in psycho-oncology (cancer and chronic illness), OCD, and community mental health.
Before pursuing her doctorate in clinical psychology, Dr. Shimony earned a Master of Public Health (MPH) from the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, focusing on global mental health. During her MPH, she published a first-author paper on Peace and Epidemiologic Transition in Patterns of Health and Disease. Dr. Shimony completed her dissertation on Moral Injury and Mental Health Outcomes During the COVID-19 Pandemic.
In her free time Dr. Shimony enjoys running, attending Broadway musicals, and exploring restaurants in New York City.

Allison Bauer, Psy.D.

Postdoctoral Fellow
Dr. Allison Bauer is a postdoctoral fellow who has a passion for helping adolescents and adults thrive. Her areas of expertise include anxiety, depression, grief/loss, ADHD, relationship concerns, perinatal mental health, and life transitions. Dr. Bauer utilizes an evidence-based, integrative approach, tailoring treatment to the unique needs of each individual in order to both reduce distress and help her patients flourish. She specializes in evidence-based approaches, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). She fosters a warm, collaborative environment, in which she both honors an individual’s expert knowledge of themselves, while also providing them with tools to cope and thrive.
Dr. Bauer has varied experience in both clinical and school settings. She completed her pre-doctoral internship at Zucker Hillside Hospital’s Behavioral Health College Partnership, where she provided therapy to undergraduate and graduate students. She has also worked in middle school and high school settings.
Dr. Bauer has a special interest in Positive Psychology and strengths-based therapeutic approaches. During her graduate training, Dr. Bauer served as clinic coordinator for the Positive Psychology Institute for Emerging Adults. Her doctoral dissertation focused on the creation and implementation of Positive Bereavement interventions to support individuals healing from the loss of a loved one and navigating prolonged grief. Her dissertation was nominated for the H. Alan Robinson Award, which recognizes outstanding, innovative, doctoral research. Dr. Bauer was also the recipient of the 2024 Ted Bernstein Award, recognizing her for exceptional work supporting youth and their families.
In her free time, Allison enjoys playing tennis, watching movies, arranging flower bouquets, and going to the beach.
